Sex Offender (Allegedly) Starfox Joins MCU, Played by Harry Styles
Thanks to Eternal’s post-credit scene, it is now confirmed that Harry Styles is part of MCU as Thanos’s brother, Starfox. A huge question mark appears on My husband and I’s heads. We know that new characters will replace the OG MCU avenger. However, we did not expect Starfox will be the chosen one. For a start, Starfox is an alleged sex offender. We all know MCU is PG13 and Disney (AKA MCU boss) tends to be family-friendly. How will Starfox fit in?
Who is Starfox anyway?
Before we jump into Starfox’s alleged sexual assault case, let’s get ourselves familiar with him. During the Eternal’s after-credits scene, we know that Starfox is Thanos’s brother. Sons of A’Lars and Sui san.
Right from the get-go, we can tell that these 2 brothers look different. Thanos is a giant, purple being, and Starfox is a pretty-looking man. The reason for Thanos’s distinguished appearance is fairly simple, mutation.
Thanos and Starfox (originally go by the name Eros or Eron), are eternal-deviants creatures. Strangely, Thanos’s gene leans towards deviant than eternal. Thus, giving Thanos a purple mean look. Starfox, on the other hand, does not have the same mutation as Thanos, hence, he is more similar to Eternals than Thanos.
Character-wise, Thanos and Starfox are polar opposites. As we can see from Infinity wars, the end game, and the avengers, Thanos is power-hungry. A’lars’s oldest son will literally sacrifice any means to gain power, including killing his beloved daughter, Gamora.
In opposition, Starfox is a carefree, hedonistic man who roams the universe looking for pleasure with his best friend Pip. In fact, he visits earth for fun and starts the legend of Eros. One of the times Starfox actually takes life seriously is when he tries to stop Thanos from wrecking the titans.
Starfox power
Earlier I already explained that Starfox is a deviant-eternal creature. Naturally, Starfox owns the same basic ability as Eternal’s members:
- (Almost) Immortal
Interchangeable with most Eternals, Starfox’s body fills with cosmic energy. Therefore, he ages way slower than most humanoids. Allowing him to live long while maintaining his youthful look. - Stronger than average Joe
Starfox is superhumanly strong. Although some say compare to an average Eternals, Starfox is physically weaker and slower. Still, he can lift 15 tons so I don’t think mere humans should mess with him. - High endurance
Although Starfox is not as strong as his fellow Eternals, he is actually quite durable. Starfox is capable to survive falling from skyscrapers or being hit repeatedly by Eternals. Allowing Starfox to last long in fights. - Healing ability
Starfox’s healing ability is quite applaudable. Starfox can mend bullet wounds in a matter of hours, much quicker than the average human. If Starfox decides to train this healing ability intensively, he can regenerate bodily tissue while constantly moving at a high speed. - Flight
Starfox is capable of flying by manipulating graviton around him. Unlike his running skill, on-air, Starfox is one of the fastest Eternals. He can reach 800 miles per hour at his peak and of course when he is not playing around.
Ikaris can shoot cosmic energy beams, Sersi is a transmutation specialist, and Sprite is a skilled illusionist. Reading the 5 skills above you probably wondering what separates Starfox from other Eternals?
The answer is pleasure stimulation. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Harry Styles is (possibly) signed up to play a walking-talking cosmic pheromone.
Starfox possesses a psionic ability to stimulate pleasure from everyone within 25 miles. In a normal state, people will feel good around Starfox. This particular ability makes him the life of any party. If Starfox concentrates this power on one target, it can make him or her feel extreme arousal, sedation, and euphoria.
This brings us to the sexual allegation
In She-hulk volume 2 part 6, Starfox was partying with a large group of women. As usual, he gets in bed with yet another stranger to whom he is attracted. Starfox treats it like another after-party sex, saying it was great and took off. The married woman, Christina Garvey, cried, was in shock with what she had done.
Later on, Christina files sexual assault charges against Starfox for using his power on her. The allegations break the news which Starfox takes lightly saying “she wants it”. His comments turn the legal case for the worst. The situation brings Starfox to ask for Jennifer, AKA She-hulk’s help.
In the courtroom, several witnesses were called. Starfox did not remember them because frankly, he has lost count on how many women he slept with. It does not matter, however, since all the witness retracts their negative statement. It is believed that Starfox uses his power to influence the judge and witnesses.
There is one witness who proves the credibility of sexual allegations. Elliot Kohl, a captured hydra member who experience Starfox power first hand. Although Starfox uses his seduction to make Kohl reveal a deactivation code for the doomsday weapon for a brief moment, the effects last longer. Kohl claims he becomes obsessed with Starfox to the point his wife leaves him.
Long story short, Jennifer realizes Starfox has used his power similar to rape drugs to take advantage of women, including herself. When confronted if he did use his power to Jennifer during a ‘steamy’ night in the avenger building, Starfox did not deny the accusation. Enraged, Jennifer transforms into She-hulk and beats Starfox (Oh, by the way, she ends it with a lovely kick to his dick).
Starfox in MCU: A Balance of Badass and Funny
Compare to other avengers, Starfox has quite a controversial reputation. He is an orthodox option to represent MCU. Especially, due to a rumor that Starfox will play a vital role.
It is not entirely impossible for Starfox to fit in with MCU plotlines. For a start, MCU might downplay or nerf his pheromone ability. There might not be an extreme case such as Christina Garvey or the fact that the wasp (Ant-man girlfriend may I remind you) has a thing for Starfox. Maybe just a little fun flirt or fan service here and there. I mean it is Harry Styles, the number of Directioners is already overwhelming.
Speaking of Harry Styles, he seems perfect to play a carefree, fun, pretty guy. I strongly believe MCU will try to point out his carefree, hedonistic character and other Eternal abilities, more than his pheromone power. Another Starfox aspect MCU can definitely sell is his background. Starfox is the perfect bridge to celestials, Eternals, Titan (Starts with Thanos), and the avengers.
It is still an assumption since the movie still has a long way to go. I am definitely intrigued to see what such a controversial character can bring to the MCU table. Hopefully, we can know the Starfox MCU full version soon.
